How did she know?

I have learned the hard way that a 3-yr old obsessed with tractors, dirt and mud does not mix well with a garden. I have tried over and over to keep him out, but every effort fails. If I banned him from the backyard, I really would only be punishing myself, as he plays out there almost all afternoon every day. Today I suspected he had been in the garden so I asked him if he had, and he said, "No Way Mommy." For some reason, I did not believe him.

Happy Birthday Mason!!

3 Too-Short Years Ago

I don't know where this little boy got all his ideas about how a birthday party should be, but he was very specific in his party plans for over a month. He wanted chocolate ice cream, a Chocolate birthday cake, one with candles so he could blow out the fire, he wanted balloons(the kind that fly), and he wanted his friends to bring him presents. Anyway, mommy tried her best to make the day special for him, and I think he had a blast. We had a BBQ at the park with the cousins and his best friend Tyson. He got a bike that mommy was sure was too big for him, but he hopped on and rode like a champ.

sssssssss......

I am totally pathetic. Here's why....Last year, I was out in the garden picking cucumbers, and under one of the leaves was the tiniest little garter snake. It was more like a worm actually. I was so freaked out, I don't even know why, I know it can't hurt me, but snakes seriously creep me out. I would not go in the garden the rest of the summer, I made Brian do everything in there.
This fear of snakes is totally going to send me to the looney-bin because I have boys. Here is what Mason and Daddy found in the backyard last weekend. TWO of them this size. Brian thinks they were breeding......AAACKKK!!! I DON'T DO SNAKES!! but of course Mason had a blast holding it and letting it wrap itself around his arm. He thought it was so cool! Can anyone guess who is not going to be in the backyard ALL SUMMER? No not that bad, but gardening is no longer my chore and I definately will not be going to the ditch behind the fence to let Mason throw rocks in the water. eeesshh.
